Olde Tyme Hymn Sing and Farwell for the Old Pipe Organ

Thank you for those that joined us for our Final Pipe Organ Service, on Sunday, July 28th at 10:30am, before we say farewell to our 1935 pipe organ, to make way for our new one level stage area and digital organ that will come in the fall.
Pipe façade will stay at the back of stage to make a beautiful backdrop for years to come.
We were treated to organ music by our talented Music Director, Daniel Mehdizadeh, who played classic hymns on the organ including “Be Thou My Vision”, “Blessed Assurance“, “Blessed Be the Tie That Binds“, “Fairest Lord Jesus“, “What a Friend We Have In Jesus“, “How Great Thou Art“, and “All The Way My Savior Leads Me“. Rev. John Niles shared the origin of each of these hymns. Cliff Floyd also played “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” during the offering collection.

Sound unfortunately was not properly amplified for the first 15 minutes of video. Hang in there, it gets better once the right button s pushed 🙂

The pipe organ was donated in 1935 by the Button family in memory of Major and Mrs. John R. Button. We gladly welcomed members of the Button family to this final service.

We are excited about the changes that are coming to our sanctuary in August, during our summer break from Sunday Worship services. We will be removing the current organ console to make room for our new pulpit / stage at front of the church. We will be introducing our new digital organ system as part of our Sunday Worship.

A Huge Thank You To Our Music Director, Daniel Mehdizadeh, Our Reverend John Niles, Stouffville United Choir, Marlene G, Nikki D, and Lisa H For Music Ministry, and The Button Family For Your Part During This Special Service.

A Special Thank You To Carroll B For Sharing Your Gift Of Photography.
