REDress Project Art Installation

September 25, 2021 @ 11:00 am 6:00 pm

Our Truth and Reconciliation Team is inviting you to our REDress Project Art Installation that is in memory, support and awareness of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Children. Opening ceremonies will be on Saturday, September 25th at 11 am at Memorial Park, with guest speaker, Mim Harder of the MAAMAWI Collective. The REDress Project Art Installation will remain open until 6 pm.

If you would like to bring a pair of children’s shoes to add to the memorial feel free to do so. All shoes will be donated to several shelters following the event.

The first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Sept. 30, to recognize the legacy of residential schools. (Orange Shirt Day)

We are looking for volunteers to help for 3 hours with 9am set up and opening ceremony attendants, exhibit attendants, or for clean up/take down. Students welcome to collect volunteer hours.

Do you know of a local business that could be interested in sponsoring our event? We are hoping to add Indigenous dancers/drummers/artists to our opening ceremonies with the help of sponsorship. Please contact the Truth and Reconciliation Team at [email protected]
