“Warm up” Campaign – “MST” acronym for Mittens, Scarfs and Toques
Collected for Stouffville Food Bank and our OPEN CUPBOARD.
As the weather turns cold and we start wearing hats and scarves, we are asking you to remember those folks who don’t have warm winter wear. Please be sure to include adult sizes as well.
As we have done in other years, we will be Collecting Mitts, Scarves (Socks) and Hats. We have a new way to collect them this year but we wanted to let you know now so those knitters among us can get busy!
Please add your winter gear donations in the collection baskets at the top of stairs or on the Warm Up Clothesline at the back of church.
2021 WHITE GIFT PROJECT – This year we are collecting money for ‘Wasauksing Food Bank’. This is a Gifts with Vision project of the United Church of Canada. The Wasauksing First Nation United Church near Parry Sound, ON hosts a food bank for people in need. Their pantry provides meat (including wild game), milk, fresh fruit and vegetables, and eggs, as well as canned food and other staples—and, during COVID-19, they deliver so that families can remain safe in their homes. A Gift of $30 will help one family feel more secure by providing a week’s supply of fresh and staple foods. We’ll be collecting our gifts until December 12th (Third Sunday of Advent). Cheques should be made out to Stouffville United Church – Wasauksing Food Bank. Tax receipts will be issued at year end for donations of $20.00 or more. Donations can be added to donation box on Sundays, mailed in (Cheques only) or dropped off in locked mail box inside the south entrance doors. Be sure to include your name on the envelopes if you would like a receipt.
